Re: Lift out bridge

Over the years as we have thought about this possibility, I have always felt that it would be nice to keep from crawling under the layout but concerned about the interlocks to keep trains from going through the open section and the likelihood that all tracks would need to stop for the bridge to open, and that when we are at a show, there can be 15 of us around going in and out  all the time and the time the bridge would take away from operating time.    Also when running long trains, the stopping distance changes.

I think this would be an awesome addition to our layout.  Anyone else agree?   Bill

From a club out west. They have 3 track main. I think we could do this.

"We do have an operating lift bridge section though.  It is suprisingly portable and works well.  The wiring is connected to the lift section through the hinge sid e and the wiring bus runs under a padded step.  I'll be doing some detailed photographs of the module within the month, so I'll send you some photos of how it was done!  "
