This is one of those projects that seem to keep coming up from
time to time. I agree with Scott about going in and out during operating
time being a problem. For Fun Run’s we can do whatever we like but for
shows we need to keep the trains running. That means that this could only be
used in the morning before the show opened or in the evening after the show
closed. Even with that limitation I believe that this would be beneficial in
that when it is open it would make it much easier to load boxes in and out and
also be used during layout set-up. This would also make a well defined location
for members to enter or exit the layout and to pass boxes through without worrying
about catching a low hanging wire. From: scott a smiley Over the years as we have thought about this possibility, I
have always felt that it would be nice to keep from crawling under the layout
but concerned about the interlocks to keep trains from going through the open
section and the likelihood that all tracks would need to stop for the bridge to
open, and that when we are at a show, there can be 15 of us around going in and
out all the time and the time the bridge would take away from operating
time. Also when running long trains, the stopping distance
changes. Scott On Wed, 3 Jun 2009 18:12:41 -0500 Bill Lohman <844bill@gmail.com> writes:
