Czhilispiel
Lorraine and I are not going to be able to attend Czhilispiel this year.
Two weeks ago, Lorraine broke her ankle. I expected her to
be healed enough for her to either attend with me or at least be able to take care of herself for the weekend. That
hasn't happened. In fact, she is having a second surgery performed on the ankle tomorrow. Since the Czhilispiel is
only two weeks away, I won't be able to leave her alone so soon after the surgery.
I will remain the event coordinator, but cannot be the set up Fat Controller.
I have the worker's passes for the event. Someone who is going to be at set up needs to get the passes from me.
I can leave them with Craig, mail them to one of you, or someone can pick them up at my house. Please let me know
who will take the passes and how I can get the passes to you. (The worker's passes are needed to get into
the Czhilispiel without paying on Friday night and Saturday. Sunday is free, so passes are not needed.)
Also, the trailer has to be towed to Flatonia on Thursday night. Adrian and Randall have both volunteered. Please
decide among yourselves who is towing the trailer and let me know. You also have to contact Tommy Shults and
find out the details about where to leave the trailer (I think he wants it left at his house).
The people who are participating at set up have to pick a time to meet. If you would e-mail me the times
you can be available on Friday afternoon or evening, I will pick the time that most people can agree on.
Lastly, someone who will be at set up will have to be the Fat Controller. Since we have the same space as last year,
I suggest using last year's layout as the tentative layout (obviously substituting the new 6-module long
switching yard for the old 5-module yard + straight module we used last year). Last year's layout is in the layouts
document on the club web site.
If the set up Fat Controller wants it, I have a module inventory list containing the labels on the modules and
some of their characteristics. It may make it easier to design the layout. If you want it, I will be happy to e-mail
it to you.
I would much rather that Lorraine hadn't broken her ankle and we could go to Flatonia, but nobody gave me that choice!
Oh well, c'est la vie.
