Show Wrap up
We did well on the raffle again, thank you Lorain. With out her it
would be only marginally profitable. As it is, we took in $141 on the
raffle. The set cost me $55. The bungies I bought a while back were $8.
I saw they were well used in the trailer packing. I gave Randall his
$25 and have my Dad's $25 for towing the trailer. thanks guys, again a
very important part of attending a show. There will be postage for the
book to the second winner. Probably $3. Therefore, we cleared $25 from
the raffle. We also got a $100 donation form the show. I will send the
check to the treasury and keep the $25 as partial payment on the next
raffle item. Financially, This was a very good show.
I will call the free member winner, Lives in seguin.
A MTH DCS control system made it to the show and was wired in on track 2
Sat. AM. there seem to be some waiting for track 2 wanting to use this
system. Everyone did get a chance to use it, that wanted to. Seemed to
work fine except for it kept receiving some banjo music and piping it
through the engine sound system. Some wires must have been crossed.
A problem was noticed with the siding for track 4, solved Sun. AM when
plug was put in. At take down, it was noticed that all of the siding
plugs were not connected. We need to remember to do the separate plugs
for the sidings. Tracks 4 and 2 sidings do not get their power from the
switch module since only the switch is on this module, no track. Without
this first plug there is no power to these sidings.
There was some discussion about losses of power in some short sections.
i think we need to continue to replace track with continuous rail every
chance we get.
We did have some damage on one of the corner module rails. Probably
caused by the new corner's cross bracing. Getting the cradle done should
help in this. The repair looked pretty good but not quite like new.
The set up was pretty good all in all. Did not have many break aways
caused by the track.
Rick got out his new Big Boy, it is. Took to track 1 fine, only one it
should run on because of its large swing out. The reverse curves of the
layout put the swing out over track 2 but Rick was real careful with
that. Good work Rick. looks great. Really caught the eye of the
audience.
