RE: Don's 1122 switch wiring

Don, it came back to me through the reflector with the pdf attachment.  Could your email program have stripped it?

Mike,

I want to thank you right away for your info before I get into the work and forget.  As to the 1122 signal.  The signal will continue to try to switch until it succceeds as the wheels roll over it preventing closure.  Whether it is a steady signal or a series of pulses, I don't know.  If you use the controller, there is one long buzz untill switching is complete.  With this wiring setup, I don't know.  Now on to the work-----------

Regards,

Don

Don,

See the attached drawing.  You would need a relay to do what you are trying to do.  The relay delaying the switching of the 2nd switch until the train has cleared it.  Be sure to see the 2nd page for a description and drawing of an NC relay.

The only caveat I see is that I don’t know if an 1122 only sends a switch signal for an instant, or whether it continuously tries to switch when a train is running over it.  This will work if it sends a continuous signal, but will not is the signal is for only an instant.
