Don't want to discourage anyone from running trains downtown but my personal opinion is that we don't make anyone be there on a holiday.  But, if someone wants to be there running trains, that would be great.  Sundays would be OK but would take committment from members to be there.

 

It was a good day at the show.  Had lots of time to run a train.  Although it was not all that crowded, the ones that came by the layout seemed to like what they saw.  We had some different scenery which gave the layout a little different look this time.  For those that can, come on down tomorrow and run a train.  Good chance to set up a long one with what we have set up.

Excellant Mike!  I think we ought to consider being open on Christmas and New Years Day.  Or perhaps on Sundays after.

We should be open to the public as often as possible to maximize the opportunity!  We could utilize the back room for repairing some modules or improving them as well.

 

Today was a good day at the show!  Bill, David, Ricky, Pal, Lee, Bob S and I had plenty of track time.  I heard someone say, "It's gotta be over 100 ft around."  They might be right.!

I just created the event document for the two month long downtown layout.  We will be there from November 20^th through January 15^th.  Setup will be November 19^th at 6:30pm and teardown will be on Sunday the 16^th of January. 

 

WE NEED SOMEONE TO TOW THE TRAILER TO SETUP AND BACK.

 

Please sign up on the event document and let me know in the “other notes” section which days and times you can obligate to be there.  We need to have the layout staffed from 12PM to 5PM each Saturday except X-Mas day and New Years Day. 

 

The days are:

 

November 20^th

November 27^th

December 4^th

December 11^th

December 18^th

January 8^th

January 15^th

 

 

In addition, the layout will be available to members every day from November 20^th through January 15^th.  You are welcome to run trains whenever you want. The code to the door lock is the same as the trailer. 

 

This will be another big event for us. In addition to selling the $5.00 raffle tickets for the Hogwarts starter set over 5 weekends, we will again allow the public to pay for the use of a TMCC set on track 4.  I will have a small TMCC freight set which people can pay $5 to operate for 10 minutes.  This time limit worked well last year.

 

There is also a donation box to be placed on the layout.  The clear lexan box should be placed on the layout where visitors can see it while you are there, and put behind the counter during off hours.
