Re: Opinion on Weaver 20" Aluminum Cars?
Hi Mike.
I have two of the brand new versions in UP two tone grey 20 inchers and a 5 car set of the older ones in UP two tone gray 20 inchers. They are great looking cars from a few feet away. But lack the detail and accuracy that K-Line and Golden Gate Depot offer -- and Atlas O will offer. Especially the older ones which have no detailed interiors. Just plastic window figures or no figures at all with green plastic. Instead of a row of lights like the other companies they only have tree light bulbs inside.
But, for running at a show they're nice enough and hold up pretty well with the other brands. And of course they are also less expensive.
If you want some beautiful NYC full scale passenger cars you might consider holding out for Golden Gate Depot's set that will be out later in 2010.
I will have four of Weaver's cars at the show this weekend. If you're coming you can check them out.
