Re: Raffle: SAMRA Model Railroad Jamboree
Hi Mike,
SAMRA has never let us run a raffle. They have their own raffle and don't want
the competition.
The same is true for AMRE. The only big organization which let us run a raffle
in the past was the Austin Steam Train Association, who usually runs the
Hill Country Railfair. Unfortunately, they cancelled the Railfair for this year.
Right now, the only shows that allow us to run a raffle are the New Braunfels shows.
However, in the past, these have all been one day shows, and it
was not economically feasible to run a raffle. This year's New Braunfels
Model Railroad Jamboree is a two day show, so we could run a raffle
there.
Adrian is checking with the World's Greatest Hobby On Tour show organizers to see
if we can run a raffle at their show next month.
That sums up the raffle situation as I understand it.
Thanks for getting the set. We now have two sets to use as raffle items.
