Re: steam engines and 27" turntables

Steve, (added)

As you know I have  Bowser 32 inch  and 28 inch turntables.  I'm modifying the bridge on the 28 inch turntable to raise the track above the pit and extend the bridge to 32 inches so I can turn all steam at both ends of the point to point part of my layout.

If I were starting fresh I'd  go rob a Seven Eleven and buy two Ross 33 inch fully automated and indexed turntables.  The Ross turntables look to be very superior to the Bowser ones -- at roughly twice the price.  Then, I could turn any O Scale steam locomotive I have ever heard of.

My Big Boys are a little over 34 inches from loco pilot to rear tender coupler.  So, they would still hang over a half inch at either end of a 33 inch turntable.  But, as previously mentioned, the wheebase of the Big Boy from the front pilot wheel in the loco to the last wheel on the rear tender truck is just shy of 32 inches and so will also fit on a 32 inch turntable -- with some real care driving the locomotive onto the turntable bridge with a quarter of an inch to spare on either end.  A 33 inch turntable would provide three fourths of an inch to spare on either end of the bridge.

But, again.   I admit to being a wide curve, large steam junky.  Yep.

All,

I wonder if folks have any data on what steam engines _will_ fit on an 27" turntable and make O60 curves coming into the turn table.
I know the giants of steam wont make it, but what about other scale engines?

2-10-x?
4-8-4?
4-8-2?
4-8-8-2 cab forwards?
