After reading your note again, I find that I don't understand it at all.

What track are your referring to as "track 5?"  Big steam engines generally run on track 1, which is the outside track.
The inside track is track 4 (positions D or E).  Are you referring to the outside track (track 1 in position A) or
the inside track (track 4 in position E)?

Also, what do you mean by "a bad track?"  Is the track physically damaged or uneven or is this an electrical
problem (i.e. trains slow down due to low voltage)?

I also don't know which module you are referring to.  Was it the module next to Adrian's oil fields (to the left of the
switching yard when inside the layout) or the module where I had the laptop and the entry carpet (to the right of the switching yard)?

It is impossible to address your concerns when we do not understand the problem you are reporting.
