Mary,

The Lionel Corporation (O gauge) is or was partially owned by Neil Young, the singer.  Neil has a handicapped child or perhaps he is an adult by now.  Neil was instrumental getting Lionel to market a controller for the physically challenged.

I believe this controller must be used along with Lionel power supplies.  King's Hobby on Lamar or Collectible Caboose in Cedar Park (See Craig Berry, 259-9494) could provide you with more specifics if this is something that may be of benefit.
