Lets put some new batteries in it and see what
happens. If it's broken, we probably need to buy a new one or get it
serviced. My guess is that it is no longer under warrantee,
eh?

No, While I did not check the battries with a meter under load.
I was sending out data I could access my engine Blow the horn but not make it
speed up or slow down (if I grabed it mid run by accident). Another
Interesting side note. when I started my engine & turned the knob the
engine would rev up( the code for teh sound unit was sent) but the engine did
not move. I think it's lost a portion od it programing (perminant eprom) ie a
true failure... Send it back to Lionel?
