Re: March 2003 Fun Run

It has been awhile since we bought new ones so I think that would be good.  I can use what's left of the power in flashlights so I would not throw them away.  Alternatively, we have noticed that the red dial on one Cab-1 has not been working as smoothly as the others.  Do you know if this was the one with the problem?

BTW:  One of the club's cab-1 handhelds was not working.  Probably poor batteries.  I suggest we throw away all those batteries in the bag and buy a new set for each one.  Perhaps before GATS?

It was a great weekend!  Steve's new module is a welcome addition.  All he needs now is a run-around track.  The power boost was quite successful.  I don't think we'll ever have trouble running anything on trk 1.  Trk 2 has some limitations but we still managed to pull 9 lighted cars with the 844 Northern.  The problem could have been with the extra car itself. Trk 1 handled the E9's plus 12 car streamliner.

Steve,  the term is called "kicking" as in "kicking the caboose."  I dropped off the key yesterday and thanked the lady for a great weekend.  Invited her to come over next time.  Just had a thought.  How about if we advertise the next fun run in the hobby shops?  Maybe email Clay at Lone Star Trains in SA, or pass out leaflets at GATS?

Would it possibly help to put a bag of kitty litter in the trailer to help absorb some of the moisture in the air?  Or maybe we could pool our little silica bags?  LOL.  The cradle worked okay.  We do need to improve the upper spacer for the original modules.

Ed.  Did you get any good PICS of our Big Boys at the SAMRA show?  I was driving down 1626 thru Manchaca today and I saw a 10 ft tall chainsaw sculpture of Uncle Sam.  It looked great in RW&B.

Anyway,  I'm looking forward to the next run.

Rick
