Re: Discussion item
As some have already heard, track 2 does not respond to a halt command
with the current wiring. Many have thought that this should be corrected
if we can. A halt command right now will cut the power to tracks 1,3,and
4 and stop MTH Command engines on track 2. Power would still be on.
Separate discussions have been going on about putting a power master
between the transformer and the TIU so a halt would cut off the power to
track two. This PM could be left in command mode since the TIU will
control the track voltage for conventional operation. The users of track
2 would have to use the Lionel Cab 1 to reset the PM after a halt
command. If we were to do this, the PM should be an IC unit and not
Lionel since the Lionel PM also changes the sine wave of the power and
MTH trains do not like this, from what I have heard. therefore, we
would not have an extra and if we wanted to move an IC unit to track 1 we
would put the Lionel on track 3. This all can work with a little
rewiring.
A PM is required for conventional operation.
