Re: agenda item: DCS purchase
The TIU has four (4) input terminals for four transformer inputs and four output terminals
for four track power outputs. However, there is no reason that one transformer can't be
connected to two of the input terminals, assuming the transformer is strong enough to
handle the load for two tracks.
As a matter of fact, since the TIU gets its power from the transformer connected to
"Fixed Input 1", MTH suggests that if you aren't using "Fixed Output 1" (which is for
a command controlled track only) you can connect a transformer to "Variable Input 1"
and jumper it to "Fixed Input 1".
I hadn't thought about it, but we could use the TIU for tracks 2 and 3 and move the IC
controllers to tracks 1 and 4. This way, any engine could run on any track, removing
the current problem we have with MTH ProtoSound engines running on tracks 1 and 4,
and MTH ProtoSound 2.0 engines could be run in command mode on tracks 2 and 3.
