New Ideas and Corner Modules
The idea of a working liftout bridge is one that will take some research. Maybe its not time for it now but its definitely a project worth pursuing. We are working with some ideas now and will present them to the club at a later date.
We don't think it is necessary to cut the skyboards, it would be easier to just leave one out on each side of the layout. This would give us a clear unobstructed view of our trains.
If we build a corner module that can be turned and work either way to produce an L-shaped layout there will be a problem with the radius of the curves. Currently track one is a 72 "+ diameter, track 4 is compressed 72" diameter and track 5 is 54" diameter. In a L shaped layout track one will be going into a smaller diameter curve and will not accommodate the large equipment that it was designed for. For this reason we have to make a corner module that has a minimum diameter of 72" on track 5.
