Trailer safety
Saturday evening I followed Monk as he towed the trailer going on the San
Antonio layout tours.
Even though the trailer tail lights are very bright, four reflectors and some
reflective tape on the rear of the trailer, the trailer is still very dark
and hard to see from the rear. It is virtually impossible to see from the
sides in the darkness.
Solution: Add red/white reflective tape across the rear and on both sides of
the trailer. The upper rear corners should be marked with white reflective
tape. This will increase night time visibility and therefore safety and our
trailer marking would be consistent with commercial trailers.
I have a 36" roll of 3M white reflective safety tape which may be enough for
the upper corners. Perhaps Adrian could get the red/white tape through one
on his bus vendors.
