AMRE-Live Oak Raffle

Hi all...

The AMRE show this weekend will be TTAT's first fund raising event. We are
selling raffle tickets for a Lionel Safari Train Set, a hard bound book on
the history of Lehmann Toys, a $25 value (Lehmann is the predecessor to
LGB---a neat book for those interested in the history of toys), and two one
year TTAT club memberships (each a $25 value).

The Safari set in new and still sealed in plastic. We will be able to
display the set without removing the plastic. The set is complete with a
0-4-0 die cast steam locomotive, tender, gondola and caboose. It also
includes a power pack, 027 track, animals, vehicles, helicopter, trees, 3-D
volcano, jungle scenery layout and helicopter landing pad. And if that isn't
enough there is a CD with all kinds of goodies on it. Retail value is over
$100. We can easily promote this raffle with this first place prize.

I'll bring an open copy of the Lehmann book for you and guests to view. The
winner will get a sealed copy. If you or guests would like to purchase the
book, I have more donated copies. Again all proceeds go to the club.

Obviously we're trying to raise funds for the club, but in addition we want
to raise awareness and promote new membership.

AMRE is supplying us with a table for our raffle and any member's for sale or
swap items. Since there doesn't appear to be a lot of for sale type items we
felt one table will be fine.

Raffle tickets are priced at $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Scott has already
sold several. We have a roll of double movie type tickets...the purchaser
puts their name a phone number on one and puts it in the box. They keep the
other. We have an orange Lionel train box for the tickets.

The winning tickets will be drawn at 3:30p on Sunday. The winners announced
over the PA system but the winner need not be present to win. Ron and I will
call the winners Sunday evening and make all the arrangements to get the
prizes delivered.

To make this effort successful we need everyone's help in promoting the
raffle. As you visit with viewers, please mention the raffle and sale table
and comment about the positive benefits of the prizes. FYI, all revenue
received will help the club maintain and expand our operation. We did
purchase the Safari Set, but the book is donated by LGB, and the memberships
will hopefully pay for themselves by gaining new long term members.

One TTAT member is assigned to the prize table at all times. The purpose is
to promote the club, the raffle, answer questions, and keep an eye on
everything. I have set up a schedule for table duty based on who I know is
attending the show. If more members come, I will ask those to help out also
especially since several members have double duty.

Since we don't know what the attendance will be like, I would suggest you not
try to operate trains during your one hour shift. Nothing is cast in stone
about shift times. I put Ira first on Sat because I believe he is staying in
San Antonio and I knew he would on time. That's why I'm at the end of the
day. If you don't like the time assigned, just swap with another member. If
you want to be at the table longer, you're welcome to stay there.

Our only loose end at this point is getting a sign (poster board) for the
raffle table and several smaller signs on the corner modules. I need help
here. I can't draw, paint, print or use PowerPoint. Please someone solve
this problem for the me and the club. Scott has offered
Cindy's services. If you can help please call Scott to coordinate.
