Re: Tinplate Trackers of Austin Texas - Exhibitor Registration (Layout)

The tongue weight is less than 1000 and since it was weighed we have moved some heavier items tot he rear we believe.    A weight distributing hitch can run $200 to $600.  It make the vehicle and the trailer connected by a beam and nor a hinge.  Therefore weight is distributed to more of the vehicle tires.  I have not bought one yet but maybe the board should authorize that.

Yes, the trailer is in the heavy duty range for tongue weight now. I can tow 9000 lbs but only 500lbs tongue weight.   I could probably go a little heavier with stiffer tires. Scott was looking into a weight distributing hitch to get some of the weight off the hitch but I don't know what he found.

Arghh…

Max tongue weight on mine is 1130 at the receiver, though I can supposedly tow up to 7700 lbs.

That’s the “Max” towing package on ½ ton trucks from them.

Maybe I should have bought a bigger truck? L

With that 1500 lb. tongue weight, that definitely says ¾ ton or better.

Sorry sirs.

I believe Scott said the tongue weight was 1500 lbs and the total weight was 6000lbs. It is a tandem axle 7x14 and has brakes. Scott and Russell can tell you more as they have pulled it many times.

I may be able to pull the trailer. However, besides needing a 2-5/16 ball, I don’t know the overall trailer tongue weight, weight, length, preferred tongue height, etc.

Just took delivery of a new Ford F150 4x4 truck last Saturday, and I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t overload it before offering.

Let me know,

Ron,

Here’s our registration form. I’m headed to Florida for 2 week family vacation. I’ll have email and my mobile phone available if there are any questions.  Back in Austin by August 9th.

I’ll create our online event coordination document around the end of August.

All the best,

Paul
