Re: Empathy for my Saturday Experience

Hi Bill

It's hard for me to say this, but yes, this club has an attitude problem. I came Fri. to help setup, even with my leg hurting. I was going to come back Sat.,  but decided not to return, because some people either don't care to help and are not interested. I was told there was not enough room for me to put even a few lighted accessories up. If some of our leaders cared, they would be more aware of the need of other members.  Also I want to input my MTH DCS system along with my Legacy at home, but some people don't seem to have the time or care, so I guess I'll work it out myself. I guess if I go to any more shows, I just go for the vendors. I really don't feel like a club member.

I had been eagerly waiting for several weeks -- ever since I purchased a new MTH DCS Proto 3 engine to test it on the club layout.  It has scale wheel flanges and came out of the box equipped to run on 3 rail DCS or 2 rail DCC.

Perfect for me.  I can run it on my home 2 rail DCC layout and hopefully on the club layout in 3 rail DCS mode -- if it will run on tubular track.  (Will run on Atlas O, Ross and Gargraves 3 rail track)  If it will run on the club layout then it will have a huge impact on whether or not I continue to purchase these MTH engines..

So, the big moment came on Saturday -- I put the engine on the track assigned to me by the FAT controller only to find out that DCS was not working.  So, I couldn't test the engine.  King sized bummer.  Huge disappointment.

Even more disappointing was that when I asked for help from one of the club's leaders I was met with the attitude, "so what, just run it conventional."  Then he more or less turned and walked away.

This is leadership? This is doing your best to take care of the club's members?  Not where I come from.

I am hoping that the majority of the club's leadership  will agree and will stamp out this attitude.
