Thanks Allan and Ira. The part I missed was the banana plug. I
looked at it, but wasn’t sure if I should switch it or not.

Michael,
I helped Ed get his new engine working, so the DCS working fine. Here is
what I did:
1. Put engine in the track on the corner module the power cart is plugged
into.
2. Note the track you put the engine on.
3. On the middle shelf, there is a box that has banana plugs that are
currently all in TPC 1-4. Take the plug for the track your engine is on
and move it to the other plug (Fixed or Variable DCS) - it doesn't matter
which.
4. Make sure the switch next to that box for the TIU is on.
5. Using a CAB1, turn on the power to the track the engine is on
(Note: The power will go up on the voltage meter, but the engine lights
will remain off).
6. Turn on the DCS Remote.
7. Press Menu->System->Engine Setup->Add Engine->Add MTH
Engine
8. At this point, the DCS system will search for your engine. If it
is found, the screen will refresh with the engine information. If it does
not, do #7 again. If it does not work again, try the other DCS Remote.
9. Press the "3" button to Start Up the engine.
10. Once the engine has started up, it is good to go.

Someone’s
going to have to show me how to get DCS running on the layout. My new
Proto2 engine is in, and I spent an hour trying to get the remote to see the
engine. I finally gave up.

We
have two or three locomotives there but feel free to bring it if you want.

I
had been planning to volunteer once I got back from my dive trip to Bonaire.
While I'll be unavailable on December 26th, I CAN show up Saturday.

BTW I do have an MTH loco we can use for those visitors who would like to
run something.
Should I bring it along?

Saturday
we will be running trains from noon to 5:00 pm. This has been super for
the club and fun for those that have been there running trains. If
possible, come on out and enjoy running trains with friends. The more
support we have, the easier it is on everyone. Four to five members
seems to work well. More is better. I probably will not be able to
stay long as I have other activities so hopefully others will show up for some
fun. Hope to see you there.
