That’s great news. Thanks everyone for contributing
yesterday. Carrie (AMLI) also expressed to me on several occasions how
nice the layout was and how she was surprised that it was as big a draw as it
was. And that was before 1PM. From the money, it sounds like 1-5
was even busier (we only had $110 when I left). She also expressed how nice she thought everyone was, and how
well you all interacted with the public. She must have previously thought
we were just a bunch of stodgy old geezers. Having a venue such as this (whether it’s with AMLI or else
ware) during the holidays is a great opportunity for the club to share the
hobby with the next generation and for us to refill our coffers. Train
shows are great, but train shows attract “train” people. Layout
locations like this attract everyone (hence newcomers). Bill, the plexiglass looks great. Thank you and Rick for
undertaking the project. -Mike From:

Of dwayneg57@aol.com I again want to thank all those that came out on Saturday to run
trains. We had another good day. We brought in $324 to the
club. We also had the person from AMLI make the statement that she hopes
she has an empty building for us to come back to next year. She saw how
much attention it drew. Also, for those who may not know, Rick has
decided that he will be at the layout to run trains on the Sundays that
follow Christmas and New Years. If you want to run trains, I am sure
he wouldn't mind company. Thanks, David |
