RE: Layout opportunity

I am planning on being there on Sat. and will bring some envelopes so individuals can put their name them for sales.

If the owner is not there, then a member just needs to take the money and let the item go.  I guess we need to decide if a check is good enough.  I think that it is for me.

As Scott mentioned, it’s important that we keep these funds separate from the club funds.  Perhaps a supply of envelopes so that we can put the proceeds from EACH sale into a separate envelope.

One other point that was made that I thought was a good idea is that if members wanted to bring some train items to sell we have all of those shelves in the room that could be used to hold them on display.  Since it will be hard to watch things and keep them from going out the door on their own, I would not bring real expensive items.  I am planning on bringing some ready to go made up sets so people could buy something for their Christmas tree.

Some guidelines for these items are in order since not everyone will there all the time to monitor their items.

All items need to be marked with price.  I would think that no negotiations except by owner.

All items need to be marked with owner or some identifier.

Provide a reasonable description of the item(s) if not obvious so others can explain what it is being offered.  ie. sound, smoke, in an engine....

Bring a few bags to carry items out, as well as some packing material.

We will have a book or pad to collect the money and write down the item sold and previous owner.  Also a money box.  Should be emptied often.

Respond with other needs, suggestions, or problems.

Thanks,

Scott
