This show has now been completed. It got off to a rough start with a reversed corner, causing us some electrical problems due to a mistake during set up. I and several others learned something about setting up the layout from this. But after we got it going, all seemed to go very well. We heard several comments on how big our set up is and on some of our trains as well. Running a triple headed SP Daylight got a lot of attention.. We did not place in the contest but had a good time. San Trak won first place and the Lego group came in second. This year we did not have as much scenery and that may have been part of why we did not get the votes. Perhaps they will have the show again next year and we can try again. Because there were so few signed up to run trains at the show, it was decided not to have a raffle. There would not be anyone to push raffle ticket sales. As it turned out, it was probably better that we didn't. I did not see any of the bigger venders and ones that were there seemed to be selling their own stuff. Many of those did not set up again on Sunday. One actually told me he wished he had not stayed for Sunday as the expenses made it not profitable. The crowd seemed to be small compared to other shows that I have been to. With is like this, I don't feel like we would have been profitable with the raffle. All in all it was a good show and hopefully they will have it again next year and it will have grown some. This was the second year for the show and first with venders.

Hey Guys!

The New Braunfels 2010 Fall Super Train Show is fast approaching. (Nov. 13-14th) A show coordinatiion document is now up in the member's section of the website. Please sign up as soon as possible whether you plan on coming or not. Also need to get someone to volunteer for towing the trailer down.

We have been given room for a 40x40ft layout. They actually said exactly what you did last year which was a large rectangle with s curves on the long sides which means we will need as many hands on deck for setup. I hope we can make this our largest yet for the year!

If you remember last year it was just a one day layout competition with no vendors. This year it is a full blown two day show and they have rented out the entire convention hall.

So mark you calendars and come out to have fun running trains!
