Re: From the Casey Jones High Railers

I think that these were the guys I saw in York.  They said that they run 100 car trains regularly.  They have all the couplers zip tied to avoid break aways.    they do not use bridge track but do have a way to adjust the position of the track as it buts up against each other.    They also have some meanders of all tracks through a few modules.  Their yard in all inside the layout and accesses only track 3 and then switches out to others.  You can see a wood lip on most of the module edges.    Looks like short jumper wires between the modules.  they have no pins connecting track so all power is in the wires.

After the local TCA meet back in April we moved our modular layout back to a local businesss that allows Memphis area train clubs to use its unfinished space.

Our membership has grown to the point where it became necessary to build a second staging yard inside of the layout. This will give us the ability to stage six trains during our shows. This expantion also added four feet to the lingth of the layout. Work on this addition should be complete next weekend.

Here are a few pictures.

This is the new module with the lead going to a 4 way Ross switch that will access the staging yard. This module will also have a switch allowing us to add a track for an engine service area.

Here is the new four foot moduel added to the other side of the layout. Zena and David just about completed laying the track this weekend.

There will be two six foot modules at the end of the new staging yard. Zena and David also made a lot of prgress on these two modules this weekend.

Moving the layout to add the mew modules.

Finally, here are some pictures of our hill top train station and platform. Light posts will be added to the platform soon.

Thanks for looking.
