Has there been any discussion of finding a place to setup in this down period until the next show?
I went on the train ride to Bertram on Sunday and the huge building in front of the Steam train area is empty. Each side of that building is bigger than the hall we set up in Garden Ridge, both sides combined looks larger than the New Baunfels civic center main space.
If we can't do it alone we might get some buy-in from the N-Scale and narrow gauge guys to get multiple layouts set up in there.
The bonus is that Saturday and Sunday you have people coming through for the Steam train that are already interested in trains. Our clubs could use this for running and recruiting.
If we got really ambitious it could be a great place for the main site of
the Austin Railroad Jamboree or something similar.
We have to figure out how to make it attractive to the building
management.
