Re: Inside Skirts
I think the idea of inside skirts is a good idea. However, we need to consider
how best to implement this idea.
In order to put the skirts inside, they would have to attach either to a mainline
module or a scenery module. If we use Velcro like for the outside skirts, that would mean
we would have to have all of our members put Velcro on their scenery modules, both along
the inside edge and the side edges. This is probably not an insurmountable problem,
but it is something to consider.
Also, we have to consider how we will attach sky boards if there are skirts hanging from the
inside edge of the modules. How do we use the spring clamps to hold the sky boards on
if the skirts are in the way? We need a scheme for attaching the skirts which still allows
for us to use the sky boards.
Another consideration is that we reverse corner modules when we build an L-shaped layout
or a layout with an S-curve on the side. Whatever scheme we use for the inside
skirt would have to work for a reversed module. We currently have Velcro on both edges
of the 45 degree modules, one ABCD module, and two transition modules to accomodate
the outside shirt when the modules are reversed. If we implement inside skirts we would
have to ensure that whatever scheme we use to attach them is compatible with these
modules also.
