Re: Layout ideas

Hi Ricky,

You are correct. That is an L-shape with one set of S-curves.

You can also speculate about building an L-shape with S-curves in
each leg.

All we need is enough room to build it and enough corner modules.

The L-shape with one set of S-curves would require 8 corners
(i.e. six 90 degree corners (either 90 degree modules or pairs
of 45 degree modules) and four 45 degree modules.)

An L-shape with two sets of S-curves would require 10 corners
(i.e. six 90 degree corners (either 90 degree modules or pairs
of 45 degree modules) and eight 45 degree modules.)

Also, the size would be very large, especially if we want to include
the full switching yard (i.e. six modules in a row). In addition to the
size we need to build an L-shape, each S-curve would offset the
tracks by six feet (not including straight modules between the
pairs of 45 degree modules). A straight module between a pair
of 45 degree modules would offset the tracks by another three feet.

These are interesting ideas.
