York TCA AtlasO Golden Spike Club Meeting

Hi all,

 

I'm a member of the AtlasO Golden Spike Club and so attended their "members only" presentation.

 

Items I found to be of interest are:

 

Their new engines, rolling stock, structures, track and signals continue to improve in detail and scale accuracy and fidelity to the prototype.  Really impressive stuff.  They are truly moving toward "3 Rail O Scale"  and of course offer most all their products in 2 rail O scale also. 

 

Nothing revolutionary here.  They continue to make steady improvements in all categories. 

 

They've added wider radius curves

 

They will shortly have a switch controller with lights that looks like the switch controllers on the old CTC boards. 

 

They now offer two versions of O scale size couplers with easily adjustable distances between cars.  All rolling stock and engines on display and on their really smooth running layout had scale size couplers.  Not a single large coupler like we all have in sight.  And they work rock solid.  We're pulling a 40 plus car reefer block with no problems.

 

They have a new line of laser cut building kits --at reasonable prices -- again to appeal to the prototype modeler who wants something a little different.

 

They include optional fixed pilots on most of their diesels -- another step toward scale realism.

 

Friendly guys.  Seem to really care about us -- their customers.
