TMCC, LEGACY and DCS Familiarization Session

Hi all.  Hope you're all doing well in coping with our record heat.  Great time to hide out in an air conditioned train room, huh.

This is to invite you to a TMCC, Legacy and DCS Familiarization Session to be held on my Overland Pacific Railway.  The idea is to have fun improving our TMCC, Legacy and DCS skills in a relaxed, low key environment -- and in the process have fun running trains -- yours and mine.

The objective, as I see it, is for us to learn the most useful and often used features of these three command systems. The features that will help us have fun, do some neat things  and be comfortable in running our trains on the Club Layout and elsewhere.

Please sign up on the Event Coordination Document and come on over:
Saturday, August 22 2009
1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Bill's Overland Pacific Train Room
9807 Lake Ridge Drive
Austin, TX 78733

This will be an informal session with the emphasis on "hands-on, learning by doing."  For those interested we'll go through the most often used features in an informal but somewhat organized manner.  Or if you prefer you can just go it alone and learn by running trains.  I don't pretend to be an expert on any of these systems.  And I'm sure that many of you know as much or more than I do.  And I'll bet if we work together we can figure out any feature we find useful and wish to understand.

I have three TMCC CAB-1's, two Legacy CAB-2's and two DCS Remote's for us to use and you're welcome to bring your own.  Legacy is version 1.2 and DCS is version 4.01.

You're welcome to use my TMCC, Legacy and DCS engines or bring your own.  I do have some known pairs of engines that have the same characteristics and so are useful in building and testing lashups.  More on this at the session.

The Factory Manuals will be available for our use as will Barry Boskowitz' new DCS O Gauge Companion, all 179 pages of it!   (He's a DCS guru and you can find him regularly on the OGR On-line Forum helping folks out with DCS problems.)

Hope to see you on August 22!!

Bill
