RE: bridge

Since my club participation is rather limited, I've felt reluctant to comment on this issue.

My only suggestion is that if the bridge is built, perhaps there ought to be time "windows" where the bridge is up during a show, so that the less-spry can walk through the layout without our trains taking the big plunge to the floor.

Admittedly, it won't be quite as dramatic as a nuclear submarine making its way under the Amtrak bridge at New London, CT, or a coastal steamer sailing under the Buzzard's Bay bridge at Cape Cod, but I suppose we'll have to make do.

Comments on the bridge are welcome from all.   I was hoping to shut down the rest of the dialog going on.

I only have one thing to add.  I think the bridge should be opened on a limited basis during the day for the convienence of those who really can't bend down well.  If and when the bridge is lifted, everyone should be aware of the location of their train in proximity to the bridge.

Also, I think it should be flat and nicely scenicked.  Bridges look nice but too easy to damage.  Flat is easier to transport and store.
