I only have one thing to add.  I think the bridge should be opened on a limited basis during the day for the convienence of those who really can't bend down well.  If and when the bridge is lifted, everyone should be aware of the location of their train in proximity to the bridge.

Also, I think it should be flat and nicely scenicked.  Bridges look nice but too easy to damage.  Flat is easier to transport and store.
