RE: Jim Smiley
Scott,
I am sorry to hear about your family's loss. Jim was my sponsor when I
joined the club. We spent quite a bit of time together as he helped me build
my first module to meet the club requirements for membership. He coached me
on the procedures at shows and was there to support me when I was FAT
controller for the first time. He took the time to fill me in on all the
knowledge a person accumulates with years of club membership and model
railroading in general. Whenever he was at a club activity he always had
time for visitors or new members and frequently put a Cab 1 in a new persons
hand before they had the chance to say otherwise. A true promoter of the
club and hobby.
