Re: Module Specs

Ed,

The only transition modules that have not been upgraded to the 120's are the two that go with your bridge module. My dad did the other two pair awhile back. We have the track for doing yours.

Also,  I don't know the numbers but it seems like we have enough transition modules, but maybe there are a few that need the modification to the gentle transitions using the 120 curves.

It seems like in addition to refurbishing or rebuilding some of the yard modules we need more ABCD modules.

Thanks for your help, Michael.

I agree with Ricky.  For new transitions, use 120 Dia curves.  Place the curve at both ends on the module at the right locations and work toward the center.  The straight in the middle  is less than an inch  but needed.
The straight needs to be actually tangent to the curves.

You need to use a 120 curve. If you cut one piece in half and then put in a straight in between the two haves laid out in an s curve it  will fit fine and be nice and gradual so all equipment looks good going thru the curve.

That is what my dad used on the other 2 sets of transition track modules. We still have to convert Ed's bridge transitons though. Western Depot still has 120's left.

On a straight module? You should use >= O72 and cut them to make the transition as smooth as possible. Don't make any D<->E with O54.

I have this modeled in RR-Track if you want it.
