April Fun Run on Bill's Overland Pacific
Here's hoping to see you at the April Fun Run on my Overland Pacific Railway. Now just two week's away - Saturday, April 25th.
No set up. No teardown. Just bring your trains and run 'em and watch videos. And maybe you'll win the door prize!
We're definitely on for Saturday the 25th, 10 am to 6 pm. If projected attendance is low, I may cancel the Sunday session.
So, please sign up or decline by next Sunday, April 19 using the TTAT website Coordination Document. This'll give me ample lead time (a week) to notify you of the Sunday session's status. I'm hoping we can do both days. More fun!
If you're thinking you really want to attend, but, just can't finalize your plans until the last minute, just let me know. We can work it out. You may just have to bring your own burger or beat someone else out of theirs!
Don't hesitate to call me at 512-663-4599 or email me at 844bill@gmail.com if you have any questions.
Look forward to running trains, watching videos and burning burgers with you!
Thanks, Bill
Some details from the original email follow.
The OP is an around the walls shelf type layout housed in a 17 ft. X 32 ft. multi-purpose room. It has two levels and enough mainline tracks and switches to run two or three moderate length trains while staging an additional one.
We can parade trains on the Highline and bring them into the valley at Overland Junction. And at the same time we can stage other trains or run a point-to-point switching operation in either direction for about 60 feet between two turntables.
We can run a mix of Legacy, TMCC and MTH DCS trains. Analog trains can be run but not mixed with Command trains.
The OP operates very reliably, but, is a work in progress. Many buildings are in place. Scenery, more structures and details will be added soon. Mainline switches will be automated soon. Yard switches will remain manual like in the real world.
