I think I spelled” brake” correctly… I need to make a new base for one of my tenders. I bought
22 gauge sheet metal from HD, and fashioned a new one with a jig saw and
stationary sander. Just as I was finished, I realized that the 22 gauge had a tendency
to bend or bow a little. The easiest way to solve this is to bend the edges
about ¼” on each of the long sides (i.e. have 2 vertical lines running
the length of the base). However, my home made attempts at making a metal
brake to bend the sheetmtal in a clean line have been fruitless (and a little
painful). Do any of you have one at home, or have any thoughts on how
to successfully bend the sheet metal? Thanks. Mike |
