Interference With Other Club's Using Lionel Legacy

Hi All,

The Lionel TMCC 1 Command Base is restricted to one Channel/Frequency.  All Clubs using TMCC in the past were constrained to use this one frequency between the Cab 1 Remotes and the TMCC Command Base.  As you all know this caused interference between TTAT and other Clubs operating in close quarters at past train shows.

Lionel Legacy has addressed this issue.  Legacy offers ten RF (radio frequency) Channels between the CAB-2 Remotes and the Legacy Base.  We manually (in the menus) change the frequency on the Legacy Command base to any of the ten .  Then all CAB-2 Controllers automatically search for the correct Command Base frequency while booting up after being turned on.  If there are multiple Legacy Bases in the area then each CAB-2 can also be manually set to the correct Legacy Base channel.

Just as we have negotiated for Tracks with other clubs in the past -- we can now work with them to select different channels. But, now we will be TOTALLY independent of the other club in the Legacy environment.  We can use the same TR's without interference because each Club is on a different Channel.

However, the CAB-1 Controllers will still communicate with the TMCC1 Command Base which will still be on it's one and only channel and so will be subject to interference from other TMCC! Clubs in the vicinity.

To build on this, as covered briefly in another email.  TMCC1 offered the capability to set up 9 TRacks or TRains (lashups).  Legacy extends this to 99 Tracks or Lashups or whatever you program with the TR function.

So, theoretically 9 clubs could each be on a separate, unique Legacy Channel and each club could also have 99 different TRacks or TRains (lashups) on top of this.  So, interferece between Clubs should be a thing of the past with Legacy.

Hope this helps,
Bill
