Re: steam engines and 27" turntables

I just measured my Chessie Steam Special 4-8-4 which was a scale Lionel
engine from1991. Its wheelbase is 26", so it will fit (and will make
the curves). However, it will overhang, so as long as there is nothing
close to the turntable, there should be no problems. Since this will
fit, all modern Lionel scale 2-8-4 engines will also fit as well as the
the older scale 4-8-2s (as they were the almost the same as the 4-8-4).
Neither of my scale 2-6-6-6s will work (they require 32" turntables).
