TTAT Layout Curve Tests

Hi All,

 

In response to Ira's request -- Ricky and I today tested several locomotives and passenger cars on the modified Track 1 curve in the L position.  Results follow.

 

 

The Following Locomotives ran successfully thru the curves.

 

Lionel UP FEF-3 Northern #844 4-8-4.  Ran smoothly thru the curves.  Has a 1 1/4 inch cab overhang worst case in that section measured from the edge of the ties.

 

Lionel  UP Big Boy #4023 4-8-8-4.  Ran smoothly thru the curves.  2 inch boiler overhang from ties.

 

Lionel UP Challenger #3985 4-6-6-4.  Ran smoothly thru curves.  1 3/4 inch overhang

 

Lionel SP AC-12 Cab Forward #4294.  Ran smoothly thru curves.  1 3/4 inch overhang from ties

 

Sunset 3rd Rail UP #9030 4-12-2.  Bound up on the O54 part of the curves. 

 

Lionel UP #9000 4-12-2.  Bound up on the 054 part of the curves.
