Fun Runs at The Railyard
Hi,
We will have fun runs at The Railyard every Saturday until we lose our non-lease.
I added fun runs to the club schedule for every weekend through the end of November
and I will post the schedule at The Railyard. (I will update the schedule on a monthly
basis as long as we have the space at The Railyard.)
I temporarily listed myself as the event coordinator for every fun run. We need some
volunteers to be the actual coordinators.
The job is pretty easy. You have to pick up the key at The Collectible Caboose,
unlock the doors, turn on the lights and the A/C, plug in the main plug for the layout,
and start running trains. At the end of the day, you have to make sure all trains are
removed from the layout, unplug the main power plug, turn off the lights and the A/C,
lock up, and return the key. During the day, you have to make sure someone is
at the layout, running trains.
You do not even have to do all of this by yourself - you just have to commit to getting
these jobs done.
I am posting the hours of operation as 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. That is our commitment
to the public. If you want to open earlier or close later, feel free. If you want to keep
the layout open past the closing time for The Collectible Caboose, you have to make
arrangements to get the key back to them.
Please let me know if you can be the coordinator for any of the Saturdays on the schedule
so I can update the web page.
Also, you may run trains on the layout any time you want, not just during the published times.
You just have to get the key from The Collectible Caboose, run trains as long as you want,
and return the key when you are finished. If you want to use the layout during a time that
The Collectible Caboose is not open (for example, in the evenings or on Sunday), you
just have to arrange to get they key and return it.
Thanks.
Ira
