Re: Board Elections

Attention: The Temple Train Show scheduled for this weekend has been canceled due to Hurricane Ike Refugees in the Convention Center. It could not be rescheduled because it was not known when the Refugees would be able to leave. Probably will not have a show until next year.

It was my intent to hold our annual board of directors election at the annual meeting yesterday.  However, only 10 active members were present which did not represent a quorum of the members.  This was pointed out at the meeting and subsequently researched in our by law to confirm.
Therefore, this e-mail will officially open the voting for the next 5 days for board of directors position to all members that were not in attendance at the annual meeting.  The retiring board members are John Eagle and Russell Knoblach.  The term is for 3 years.  A total of 5 are on the board.  Remaining board members are Scott Smiley, Alan Adelman and Ricky Dolifka (not his father, Rick).
The following are the candidates.  I do not want to say much in this forum to avoid swaying decisions by the members.  The candidates can make a brief reply  to the membership if they wish.  Some additional information is available on our roster web page.

Ira Schneider - previous board member and active member.

Bill Lohman - new and active member.

Mike Graziano - new and active member

Ed Weltens - previous board member and active member

Please reply back to me as sc.smiley@juno.com if you want your vote to be relatively anonymous.  Please indicate two candidates of your choice.

Scott
