Ricky,
I have to be in Dallas at a family get-together on Saturday,
25th. Firm committment. That's why I couldn't attend the Fun
Run. So I can't attend the store event. but, I think it's a
great idea and if you would like to reschedule it for the next
weekend I'll attend and bring the Legacy Big Boy and the new Legacy GS-4
Daylight. Or if you would like to schedule an additional session we
could do it then.
Also, reference our conversation at the store earlier this week, I
would be happy to host an operating session on my layout but only if the
TTAT Club Officers think it's a good idea. I don't want to be
seen as competing with club events but rather as encouraging participation
and offering more options so as to heighten interest in model railroading
and in the club. I'm currently doing fairly extensive modifications
to my layout and expect to complete them by Mid-August. So this might be
something to consider for the fall. At that point the layout will be
capable of an 80 feet point to point run from turntable to turntable with
several sidings between for set-outs and pickups while having over 100 ft
of combined mainline loops to build larger passenger or freigh consists
and put them out on the main line and parade
them. Probably enough items to have simple operating sessions
that will keep three or four guys busy.
Regards,
Bill Lohman

In case you haven't heard already the Collectible Caboose recently
expanded into the vacant suite next door where we had the club layout
setup. With that expansion we have built a new O scale layout which is
basically complete save for scenery. We've gotten some new stuff in
including the new Legacy System from Lionel along with some of the
legacy equipped engines.
Since we canceled the fun run that was scheduled for this weekend I
thought maybe everyone that was planning on attending it could instead
come up on Saturday and see the newly expanded store and get a chance to
learn about and see the Legacy system in action on the new store
layout.
