Re: New Braunfels Layout Minimum Radius

Thanks Rick

Everything I'm bringing should run and look okay on the below.  My only concern would be the 21 inch K-line aluminum cars which have a sort of an inverse overhang in that the center of the cars hang out a bit on curves.  Any problem with these?  The minimum diameter on my home layout is 090 and the rest are 099.  So I've never run any of my equipment on any sharper curves.  Have no experience with 072 for example.

As you know I do have kthe new Lionel TMCC 2 Legacy Big Boy which I could bring but it would require us to hook up my new Legacy control system and use the Cab 2 remote.  I think the new Legacy system is fantastic.

I'm thinking that it would be best to test Legacy during a club Fun Run.  But, I would be willing to bring it if the club leadership is interested in having me run it.  It is simple to connect.  Just disconnect the TMCC base ground and connect the Legacy Base ground in it's place and then connect the specially supplied cable between the Legacy and TMCC I bases.  So, both TMCC systems and their Cab 1 and Cab 2 controllers work together seamlessly.  Works perfect with TMCC 1 TMCC 2 and DCS on my layout.  (I do have DCS problems).  But, I no longer use TMCC TPC's 300's (3000's?) on my  layout.

The inside of the L uses tracks  2, 3, 4, 5.  Trk 2 is 72"  and Trk 5 is 96".  The only thing you have to worry about is approaching another train on Trk 3 with an articulated engine such as a Big Boy!  Trk 3 has extreme S curves on approaches to Ed's bridge module.
