Re: Shows

Scott,

I don't think I am ready to take on the coordinator roll yet, but wouldn't mind helping out.  That would allow me to learn the in's and out's
and be able to be the coordinator in the future.  Let me know if there is something I can do to help out.

David

Subject: Fw: Shows

Some of you know that we were invited to participate in the TCA Lonestar
Division Train Meet in New Braunfels Sat. May 31, 2008.   The board voted to agree to participate.  They said that we can have any size we want since they will be in the large hall in New Braunfels instead of a smaller room.    Please add this to your calendar.  These guys and vendors will likely be more O-guage that anything else.  Typically the members bring things to sell and not just the typical vendors.  I will be show coordinator for this unless someone else wants to do that.  I will get Ira to draw up a layout that uses all of our modules and 6 corners so it will be an L shape.

Plan to bring your long trains so we can show off and hopefully entice new members to join us as well.

They are a club and do not make much money from the show but we agreed to participate in
the show.  I told Clay, their coordinator,  that we needed a minimum of $50 to pay our drivers
of the trailer.  I am thinking that we could also ask them for a
discounted first year membership dues for any of our members joining as
additional compensation to our club.  I will let you know if they agree to some deal to increase our benefit from participating.

Additionally, The guys that run the New Braunfels Summer train show Aug
16, 2008 are also interested in us participating.  We have been carrying this show on our calendar and now have contact information and an invitation.  We need a show coordinator for this so I would like to here back from some volunteers for this role to support he club.
