Election of TTAT Board of Directors

Here is a great opportunity for you!

As you probably know, the members of the Board of Directors for the Tinplate Trackers -
Austin, Texas are elected to staggered three-year terms.

This year, the terms for two of the board members, Ed and me, expire.  These positions
will be filled in an election which will take place at the Annual Meeting on September 9, 2007.
(The club membership elects the members of the board.  At the first Board of Directors
meeting after the club election, the board decides who among them will be President,
Secretary, and Treasurer.  So, even though I am currently the Secretary, that doesn't mean
that a person elected at the September meeting to fill my position is being elected as Secretary - 
he will simply be elected as a board member.)  The outgoing board members continue their
affiliation with the board for a year as non-voting Advisors.  So you are not going to get rid of
me that fast!

This is your chance to become a member of the Board of Directors and influence the direction
of the club for the next three years.

Membership on the board requires a minimum committment of time.  The board meets for about
an hour once a month.  It is expected that board members attend these meetings (when possible).
In addition, the board members are viewed as the leaders of the club, and usually volunteer for
other assignments, such as Event Coordinator for events in which the club participates and
normally fully participate in events.

This is a great opportunity (where did I hear that before?) for any member, especially a relatively
new member, to see how the club runs and to be one of the leaders.
