This operation (bringing out an engine) would require command engines on 
the affected tracks.

I happen to think spectators would watch such a maneuver with great 
interest.  So while a train must stop on the track being utilized for 
the cross-over, that whole interaction of coordinating is what makes the 
idea interesting.

Yep, and the sidings are great!  I'm just looking for a way to actually 
utilize the roundhouse and diesel facilities for all 4 tracks.
