[Fwd: Railfair 2006 Models]

Members,

FYI: Info on the Railfair this year.

TTAT Board, I will not be able to coordinate this event. John emailed
me I guess because I coordinated it a few years ago. Rick/ricky did it
last year.

Stevo.

Hi All,

I'm sorry to be late in describing the Railfair model
RR set ups. There have been a number of difficulties.

Railfair this year will be Friday afternoon (set up)
through 4 PM on Sunday, June 23 to 25, 2006.

I include Bill Nash in the list because he will be
helping me with logistics issues this year. Also, I
will be out of town from May 30 to June 15, and he can
help with questions during that period.

John Phalen is the overall coordinator for Railfair.

I am working right now to resolve space issues. I
have a pretty large space available in the old
Hardware Store on the square, but the air conditioning
situation is not yet resolved. There is an AC unit in
the building, but word is that it was never adequate
and folks are not sure that it still works very well.
We may have to rent some portable AC to use this
building. This building measures approximately 60
by 68 feet inside, but a 30 by 18 foot rectangle in
the rear corner is not really very useful space (it is
closed off by walls).

I can let you know more early next week.

If we have to rent portable AC, we may have to ask the
clubs to help with the rental costs. The alternative
would be to place a number of floor fans and open up
the two garage-type doors at the back of the building
and the front door.

I'm sure that we will have to prioritize since I most
likely do not have space for 4 railroads. So, based
on frequency of recent setups and other factors (space
required, mixing up the scales, etc) , the priority
sequence will be:

1. AustNtrak

2. Tinplate Trackers

3. New Braunfels Nscale

4. HOT G-Gaugers

Please let me know soon if your club would like to set
up at Railfair this year.
