RE: Tearing down the layout at The RailYard
Ron,
When does the show start? I should be able to make it for the opening
and stay there most of the day.

This is the week we need to let SAMRA know if we're still coming to the
show
and if we are, what size/type of layout we will set up.
According to the event document the turnout will be very low for both
the
set up process and running trains on Saturday. If I read the document
correctly, 3 members can help with setup on Friday (Russell, Steve
Rorer,
and Ed) and Jim Reesman can help on Saturday morning.
7 members have signed up to run trains on Saturday but Jim Reesman plans
on
leaving at 11, Jim Smiley is doubtful, and I'm guessing some of the
remaining 5 members will get to the show later in the day since Steve
Rorer
is the only one who indicated he could be FAT controller on Saturday.
If no one else plans on attending either Friday or Saturday I think this
will make for some long days for the set up teams and running trains on
Saturday. I'll leave it to the board and those who are planning on
attending the show to decide if we still want to go but we need to
decide in
the next couple of days.
If we do decide to go, I would suggest setting up a small and simple
layout.
I haven't seen the current layout at the railyards but we may want to
consider setting up at SAMRA using the same modules.
Let me know if I read the event log incorrectly or if anyone has any
other
ideas for the show.
Thanks--Ron
