Re: [SPAM] Question

Norm,

I think you are going to have to use O-Gauge tinplate track (not O-27).  This is available from Lionel, K-Line and I think Williams.  Craig at the collectible Caboose can help.

I'm (or was) a non functioning member.  I joined (paid a membership) over a year ago, but found that the drive from Kerrville to the various events was just too much.  I enjoy restoring and running Tin plate trains from the 1930's to 1942 and have a small layout at home.  But I have encounterd a problem that I thought one of you may have some suggestions about.  The flanges on this older equipment are much deeper than on post war and modern Lionel.  Thus when the older equipment crosses newer switches and track crossings the engines and cars ride up on the flanges, not on the rim of the wheel.  The question is: Do the Ross crossings and switches have deep enough flange groves to solve this problem?  Or does the Collectable Caboose or other store have Ross crossings in stock, so that I might bring up a car and check it out?  Is there another Brand I should be considering?  My layout requires two 45 degree croosings set next to each other crossing a double mainline set at about 4.25 inches.  Old Lionel O gauge crossings look to be impossible to cut that short.  Any suggestions appreciated.  Norm
