The Railyard ... status
Title: Message
Hey
guys,
Sorry for the delay
in getting back to everyone, but here's the scoop, so far:
(1) The office
where the layout was located has been leased out and the new tenant has began
moving furniture, etc. in -- so that spot's out.
(2) The empty
space that used to house The Floor Depot has been leased out and the new tenant
has began moving fixtures, etc. in -- so that spot's out.
(3) There is
one more empty space that is "finished out" -- the Williamson County Republican
Party is there until the election. My landlord has said that assuming he
hasn't rented that space, we can move in after they move out -- tentative spot
after November 3rd.
(4) I have
spoken to the owner of the restaurant that has leased the space in the front of
my building about setting up the weekend of October 30th for the Austin RR
Modelers Jamboree (show based in Round Rock with self-guided tours of area
layouts). He said that he'd be glad to work with us and, at this time, he
didn't see any reason why we couldn't set up for the weekend in there. By
then, the space should be at least sheetrocked, but I don't know if his A/C will
be working. For just a weekend setup, though, this should work if ya'll
want it.
(5) There is a
large unfinished space in the back of this area (approx. 5000 sq ft). I'm
sure that I can get clearance for us to setup anytime we want in that
space. There's just no climate control (A/C or heat). Also, access
to this space is limited, but not exclusive...in other words, it is kept locked,
but various people (including construction guys) store items in there
temporarily.
My landlord also
said that finished space in the Cedar Park area is very limited at this
time. In fact, all of the complexes that he manages and leases are full at
this time....so going somewhere else may be tough.
Anyway, I'll keep my
eyes peel for more opportunities. Let me know what you
think.
